A Brief History of Walt Disney: The Man Who Made Dreams Come True
Early Life
Walter Elias Disney was born on December 5, 1901, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the fourth of five children born to Elias Disney, a carpenter, and Flora Call Disney, a homemaker. Disney's family moved to Marceline, Missouri, when he was four years old. It was in Marceline that Disney first developed his love of drawing and storytelling.
Disney's family moved back to Chicago when he was nine years old. He attended McKinley High School, where he took art classes and worked on the school newspaper. After graduating from high school, Disney attended the Kansas City Art Institute for a year.

Early Career
Disney's first job was as a commercial artist for the Pesmen-Rubin Commercial Art Studio in Kansas City. He later worked for the Kansas City Film Ad Company, where he created animated advertising shorts.
In 1920, Disney moved to Hollywood, California, with his friend Ub Iwerks. The two men founded the Laugh-O-Gram Studio, which produced animated short films. The studio went bankrupt in 1923, but Disney and Iwerks continued to work together, creating the Alice in Cartoonland series of short films.
The Walt Disney Company
In 1928, Disney created Mickey Mouse, the world's most famous cartoon character. Mickey Mouse starred in a series of short films that were distributed by Columbia Pictures. In 1932, Disney released his first full-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The film was a huge success, and it helped to establish Disney as a major force in the entertainment industry.
Over the next few decades, Disney continued to produce classic animated films, such as Pinocchio (1940),Fantasia (1940),Dumbo (1941),Bambi (1942),Alice in Wonderland (1951),Peter Pan (1953),and Lady and the Tramp (1955). Disney also founded several theme parks, including Disneyland (1955),Walt Disney World (1971),Tokyo Disney Resort (1983),and Disneyland Paris (1992).
Later Life and Legacy
Disney died of lung cancer on December 15, 1966, at the age of 65. He left behind a legacy of beloved characters, films, and theme parks that have entertained generations of people around the world.
Disney was a pioneer in the field of animation, and he is credited with creating some of the most iconic characters in American pop culture. His films and theme parks have brought joy to millions of people, and they continue to be enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Disney's legacy is one of creativity, imagination, and innovation. He was a true visionary who changed the world of entertainment forever.
