About the Author
Rajinder Kaur was born in 1934 in the Punjab region of India. She was a young woman during the Partition of India in 1947. She and her family were forced to flee their home and migrate to India, where they were met with hostility and discrimination. Kaur eventually settled in the United States, where she worked as a teacher and a community activist. She died in 2019 at the age of 85.
