John Cabot

John Cabot was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1450. He was a skilled navigator and cartographer, and he had a passion for exploration. In 1496, he obtained a patent from King Henry VII of England to explore the New World. Cabot set sail from Bristol, England, in May 1497, with a crew of 18 men. He sailed west across the Atlantic Ocean, and on June 24, 1497, he sighted land. Cabot believed that he had reached Asia, but he had actually discovered North America.

Cabot explored the coast of North America for several weeks, and he claimed the land for England. He returned to England in August 1497, and he was hailed as a hero. Cabot's discovery of North America opened up the New World to European exploration and colonization.

Sebastian Cabot

Sebastian Cabot was born in Venice, Italy, in 1476. He was the son of John Cabot, and he was also a skilled navigator and cartographer. Sebastian Cabot made his first voyage to the New World in 1497, with his father. He made several more voyages to the New World in the early 16th century, and he explored the coast of North America from Newfoundland to Florida.

Sebastian Cabot was one of the most important explorers of the New World. He helped to map the coast of North America, and he played a key role in the European exploration and colonization of the New World.

The Legacy of John and Sebastian Cabot

John and Sebastian Cabot were two of the most important explorers in history. Their discoveries opened up the New World to European exploration and colonization, and they had a profound impact on the history of the Americas. The legacy of John and Sebastian Cabot lives on today in the names of places such as Cabot Strait, Cabot Tower, and Cabot Trail.

This book is a fascinating account of the lives and explorations of John Cabot and his son, Sebastian. It is a must-read for anyone interested in the history of exploration and the discovery of the New World.
