By Julia Donaldson
There's a dragon in my toilet! He's green and scaly and he breathes fire. He likes to swim in the toilet bowl And he makes a terrible mess.
I don't know how he got there, But I'm sure he's not supposed to be here. He scares me a little bit, But I think he's kind of cool too.
I've named him George, And we're best friends now. We play together every day, And we have lots of fun.
But one day, George gets sick. He's not breathing fire anymore, And he's not swimming in the toilet bowl. He's just lying there, And he looks very sad.
I don't know what to do. I don't want George to die. I take him to the vet, But the vet doesn't know what's wrong with him either.
The vet says that George is a very special dragon, And that he needs to go home and be with his family. I don't want to let George go, But I know that it's what's best for him.
I take George home, And I tell him that he has to go away. He looks at me with his big, sad eyes, And I know that he understands.
I give George a big hug, And I tell him that I'll never forget him. Then I watch as he walks away, And I know that I'll never see him again.
I'm sad to see George go, But I know that he's in a better place now. He's with his family, And he's happy.
I'll never forget George, And I'll always cherish the memories we had together. He was my best friend, And I'll never forget him.
