About the Author
John H. McGlynn is Professor Emeritus of Southeast Asian Studies at the Australian National University. He has written extensively on Indonesian history, politics, culture, and society, and his work has been translated into more than a dozen languages. McGlynn is a recipient of the MacArthur Foundation Fellowship and the Fulbright Senior Scholar Award. He is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
