Gilot, a talented artist in her own right, met Picasso in 1943 when she was just 21 years old. Their relationship was passionate and stormy, and they had two children together. However, Gilot eventually left Picasso, unable to tolerate his infidelities and emotional abuse.
In Life With Picasso, Gilot paints a vivid portrait of the artist as a complex and contradictory figure. He was a brilliant artist with an insatiable appetite for life, but he was also a cruel and selfish man. Gilot reveals Picasso's creative process, his struggles with depression, and his obsession with women. She also provides a fascinating account of the art world in Paris in the 1940s and 1950s.
Life With Picasso is an essential read for anyone interested in the life and work of one of the most important artists of the 20th century. It is a revealing and intimate portrait of a complex and fascinating man.
